DCC Cargo Bikes

Dublin City Council Cargo Bike Initiative

In collaboration with Bleeper, offers businesses and non-profit organizations within the DCC area the opportunity to trial electric cargo bikes (e-cargobikes) for up to 12 months, promoting sustainable urban mobility and reducing reliance on traditional vehicles.

Benefits of E-Cargobikes:

  • Efficient Deliveries: E-cargobikes can navigate congested streets more effectively than cars, especially during peak hours, and can utilize shorter routes inaccessible to larger vehicles.

  • Parking Convenience: Riders can avoid the challenges of finding parking spaces in busy urban areas, enhancing operational efficiency.

  • No Driver's License Required: E-cargobikes can be operated without a driver's license, making them accessible to a broader range of individuals.

  • Health and Productivity: Cycling contributes to improved health and well-being, potentially leading to increased productivity among staff.

  • Environmental Responsibility: Utilizing e-cargobikes demonstrates a commitment to environmental sustainability by reducing carbon emissions associated with traditional delivery vehicles.

Participation Details:

  • Eligibility: The initiative is open to businesses and non-profit organizations with premises in the Dublin City Council area. Organizations outside this area are encouraged to apply and may be considered for alternative opportunities.

  • For Businesses: A monthly fee of €100 allows businesses to trial an e-cargobike for up to 12 months, with the bike exclusively branded with the company's logo.

  • For Non-Profits: Non-profit organizations can participate free of charge for up to 12 months, with Dublin City Council subsidizing 100% of the cost.

  • Branding: Participants have the option to customize their e-cargobike with bespoke branded decals at no additional cost.
